Renfield, the room is clean and tidy but the air is heavy with the smell of common incence used to cover up nastier smells. Any windows or anything that would let in outside light has been blocked off by heavy dark curtains with bookshelves pressed against them and the room is very well cut off from outside noise as well, making it fairly hard to become distracted.
